Thank you

We should like to thank the following who have given generously to The Village Playgroup.

The Co-op's Local Community Fund
In 2017 were were fortunate to secure funding through The Co-op's Local Community Fund. With the money we were able to upgrade our outside play facilities by replacing our old plastic equipment with a more natural wooden equipment which give the children the chance to practise their climbing, balancing and exploring skills.

Golf Pride Grips
A big thank you to Golf Pride Grips, a division of Eaton for their generous donation of a new Sand/Water Table. This is a wonderful new addition to the educational resources that we provide for the children to enjoy.

Werringtons Traditional Fish and Chips
Linzer, at our local chip shop decided to organise a Charity Valentine's Raffle to support Playgroup (Feb 2017). She generously obtained all the raffle prizes and organised this fundraising event on our behalf. With the help of their customers they raised £63. This money was used directly to help purchase two new tablet computers for the preschool. Thank you

Werrington Village News & At Last tearooms
We would like to thank Marie and Mitch at Werrington Village News for organising a raffle over the Christmas holidays (Dec 2016) and a 1940s afternoon (Aug 2017) to help boost our fundraising efforts. With the support of their customers they raised an amazing £607 - thank you!

BGL GIVE Committee
We are extremely grateful to BGL's GIVE committee for their donation of £368, which we received in July 2016. With this money Playgroup was able to purchase much needed new storage boxes and child size activity tables. We thank everyone who made this possible.

Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation
In March 2016 Playgroup was awarded £650 from Leeds Building Society's Charitable Foundation. The money was used specifically to purchase a new role play kitchen for the pre-school. This is a much loved and used piece of equipment and was in desperate need of being replaced. We thank the Trustees of the Charitable Foundation for selecting us to receive this donation.

The Cock Inn, Werrington
Huge thanks for Gill and Chris at the Cock Inn, Werrington for allowing Playgroup to be their charity partner for their Good Friday Fun Day and Easter Egg Hunt (March 2016). Their support in getting the event running was fabulous and together with perfect weather it was a real success raising £578.

The FitzWilliam Quilters
We offer our thanks to the Fitzwilliam Quilters who decided in 2016 that one of the charities they would support for the year would be Playgroup. They donated £100 which Playgroup has used to purchase a new art easel.

Tiger
A huge thanks to Becky and her team at the Queensgate branch of Tiger Stores for their kind and generous donation of craft and novelty items. These will make great prizes for our forthcoming fundraising events as well as supplementing the children's craft corner. Thank you!

Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade
In 2016 we welcomed Firemen Tony and Simon from Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade with their engine twice into Playgroup (Jan and May). The children had the opportunity to sit inside the engine, wear real firemen helmets and to hold the hose nozzle. Watching the water come out of the hoses was great fun. Inside the children were able to ask questions while Tony and Simon told them how important it was not to play with matches and candles and what they should do if they were ever in a fire. A fun and very educational morning for all. Thanks Tony and Simon!
